Abu Dhabi will soon expand its Darb toll gate network with two additional toll points, as authorities move to improve traffic flow, reduce congestion and support the emirate’s growing road network.
The new gates, announced by the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), will go live on May 4, 2026, and will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
So, if you have still not registered for the Darb toll system, here is all you need to know.
What is the Darb toll system in Abu Dhabi?
Darb is Abu Dhabi’s electronic toll collection system. Cameras automatically scan vehicle number plates, so no physical sticker or tag is required. However, motorists need to register in the Darb toll system, in order to use the toll gates.
Where are the new Darb toll gates?
The two new toll locations are:
Ghantoot Toll Gate
Located on Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Street (E11) in the Ghantoot area, near the Abu Dhabi-Dubai border. This route is widely used by commuters travelling between the two emirates.
Al Qurm Toll Gate
Located on Wahat Al Karama Street, covering the entrance and exit points connected to Sheikh Zayed Street, a major route into Abu Dhabi city.

1. Al Maqta Gate – Al Maqta Bridge
2. Rabdan Gate – Mussafah Bridge
3. Sas Al Nakhl Gate – Sheikh Zayed Bridge
4. Al Saadiyat Gate – Sheikh Khalifa Bridge

7am to 9am
3pm to 7pm
Except for Sundays and official holidays
