Dubai has received proposals from six consultant groups for the planned 55km Airport Express Line.
Road and Transport Authority(RTA) is seeking study and design services for a rail corridor linking Dubai International Airport with Al Maktoum International Airport. Proposals were reported on August 13 2026 after consultants received the tender earlier this year.
Planned infrastructure includes five stations across the route. Passenger facilities include remote airline check-in, baggage drop-off and security screening.
Six groups compete for design contract
AECOM has partnered with Singapore’s Surbana Jurong for the consultancy competition. Parsons has submitted a joint proposal with Arup.
France’s Systra is bidding with Egis. AtkinsRéalis, Jacobs and WSP have submitted separate proposals for the contract.
RTA initially gave consultants until June to submit proposals for the study and design package. Industry reports have not disclosed a preferred consultant or contract value.
Airport Express Line plans place the eastern terminus at the existing Red Line station serving DXB in Al Garhoud.
Trains would run through Al Jaddaf before following the Al Khail Road corridor towards Jumeirah Village Circle. A new JVC station forms a central interchange within the proposed alignment. Services would continue south towards DWC in Jebel Ali. More
