Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has issued an Eid Al Adha travel advisory for passengers heading to Dubai International Airport (DXB) during the holiday departure wave.
Travellers have been directed to use Dubai Metro access at DXB Terminal 1 and DXB Terminal 3, carry no more than two pieces of luggage, and keep enough NOL balance before entering the system.
RTA guidance circulated ahead of the break sets the minimum balance for Silver card users at AED 15. Emirates has issued a parallel peak travel notice for Dubai departures.
The airlines are expecting high passenger volumes during the Eid break and are asking customers to arrive at least three hours before departure, reach boarding gates 60 minutes before take-off, and use the Dubai Metro to avoid road congestion on the approach to the airport.
Rail access takes priority
Airport rail access has become the clearest pressure valve in the latest advisory cycle. Dubai Airports confirms that DXB’s Red Line connection serves both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
This gives passengers a direct rail option into the airport without depending on kerbside drop-offs during peak periods.
Dubai Airports also notes that Metro service hours can extend during public holidays and citywide celebrations, a point that matters as Eid travel compresses large numbers of departures into narrow morning and late evening windows.
Baggage discipline sits at the centre of that flow plan. Dubai Airports sets the Metro allowance at up to two pieces of luggage, including hand baggage.
