The latest futuristic public transport method is set to be rolled out in Dubai next month.
Set to launch in March, driverless taxis will initially be introduced to select locations in the emirate before a wider expansion across the city.
Those interested in booking a robotaxi will be able to do so by selecting the ‘Autonomous’ option in the Uber app when in the Jumeirah area.
The driverless Apollo Go robotaxis, manufactured by Chinese firm Baidu, will be available to anyone booking an Uber Comfort or UberX in the designated neighbourhood.
Uber and WeRide have tested the service extensively since it was first announced in April of 2025. Initial trial runs last year allowed the service to map out its direction.
While trials have been successful, the mode of transport won’t be available to book until March
