You may have noticed that Dubai traffic is even more chock-a-block than usual this week – and there’s actually a very good reason.
Two massive events are being held at the same time in the emirate this week, which is putting extra pressure on the city’s roads and public transport as thousands descend on the city.
The World Health Expo, previously known as Arab Health, is being held at Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City, and the WHX Labs Dubai, formerly Medlab Middle East, is at Dubai World Trade Centre.
The event is expected to attract more than 235,000 specialised visitors from over 180 countries, showcasing the latest solutions across medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, healthcare infrastructure, biotechnology, and life sciences.
And more than 35,000 attendees from 180+ countries are expected to visit the Dubai World Trade Centre between Tuesday February 10 and Friday February 13.
With so many extra visitors to the city, it means that taxis will likely be placed closer to both venues, the Dubai Metro should be busier than normal and long queues should be expected on the roads.
So, you may need to leave slightly earlier than normal to get to where you need to go this week.
Event organisers Informa and the Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai have both issued advice to attendees to make it easier to get around.
Using the Dubai Metro to get to World Health Expo 2026

For those attending The World Health Expo, there’s a convenient connection on the Dubai Metro Red Line with the Expo 2020 Metro Station.
Event organisers say that the Exhibition Centre is approximately five to 10 minutes away from the metro station, with a clearly signposted pedestrian route.
In addition to the direct Dubai Metro link, there are Park & Ride options from four metro stations. Centrepoint, e&, National Paints and max metro stations all have Park & Ride options for those attending the World Health Expo.
A silver or gold Nol card is recommended for multi-day attendance, while a red ticket is suitable for one-way or day-pass travel to either venue. More
